La Push, WA

I've always wanted to get out there and finally someone at work put the Bee in my bonnet to check out Rialto Beach. As it happened there was a Seattle Mountaineers Photo Club Outing that was doing just that. I left....
Friday around 11-ish and got to Mora campsite, thinking that the other two in La Push didn't get very good reviews. I dropped the "Droppe", luckily didn't unpack anything and proceeded to check out the booming metropolis of La Push. The first campsite was gear towards the Big Boys, those 75'+ behemoths. The second one, Lonesome Creek, turned out to be just fine. Sooooo.. high tailed back to Mora, hooked up and settled in at the beach front, room with a view. Only 2 others at the time, so parked down at the end for peace and quiet.
got settled in and met the others at the Smoke House Restaurant which apparently was visited more than once by Muhammad Ali, world class boxer and of course Elvis.Â
Early morning to catch the sunrise... ahhhhh....errrr.. no sun all week end, so colors were lacking. Making do with what is at hand, grabbed the boat and waves... yes, plenty of waves to go around for all.
Then on to Rialto, then to Ruby (nice place - sort of a compact Rialto) and back to Forks, which brings a new meaning to the Twighlight Zone.... Hiked to 2nd beach, that's the trail stuff.
Back to Rialto to catch a sunset.. heheh... yeah, I know, but one might get lucky with a sun through the clouds thing... Alas, that was not to be this time out. Others hiked to the "Hole in the Wall" down at the far north end of the beach with all the rocks.
Potluck that night, returning home to find a huge fifth-wheeler with porch lights a blazing, lighting my spot up like an interrogation room. Had to move the drop about face and they finally turned them off. Catching up on some DVDs (have yet to finish that Oscar performance by Debbie Gibson in "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octo" but finished a few others.

Next morning up and at'em, packed up and moseyed on home. Creasant Lake was beautiful on the way back.
Will do the trip again, but wary of Summer time as the camping sites were pretty much like a parking lot and if crowded, with kids and mosquitoes it would be a living hell.
